The Indiana Dalrymples

Doug, Craig, Nancy, Jill, Dave (Pardo) and Lynn at Christmas 2000
mama Jill!

Doug and Nancy have lived in Bloomington, Indiana since they moved there in the fall of 1968 when Lynn was only seven months old. Doug retired in 1998 from the marketing department in the Business School at Indiana University where he was a professor. He has authored several books through many editions, has several computer simulations and is currently considering an internet edition.  He also has been on various boards including the I.U. Bookstore, the I.U. Credit Union, and currently the Y-Center. He continues to write books from his office at home.

Nancy’s field is autism where she has taught classes, directed the Indiana Resource Center for Autism, was on the faculty at the University of Louisville Pediatric Department, consulted in many school districts, presented throughout the country and authored articles and sourcebooks. She continues to consult and write on a part-time basis as well as coordinate groups for people with autism.

Now, Nancy and Doug enjoy having more time to travel – they have been to Germany, England, Spain, and France in recent years as well as many visits to the East Coast, California, and Denver, and one to Oregon. They love to garden and Doug reads and reads. Nancy writes, builds miniatures, sews a bit, and pursues genealogy.  Our 8 year old cat, Annie, is a spoiled member of the family.

Nancy traveled this past year to Spain, Denver many times, Vancouver, and Portland. She is continuing to work in Louisville as a consultant when she’s home. Doug is getting quite professional at his gardening and the flowers are lovely including some orchids. He built a big box off the ground to hold his roses because the deer were eating each bud that came along while on the ground. This has proved very successful and he now has lovely roses right out the back door!! His current project is investigating efficient furnaces to replace a 20 year old one to conserve energy and cut costs.

Lynn and Dave Pardo

Lynn and Dave live in a 1904 “farmhouse” in the middle of Indianapolis. This allows them short drives to work downtown. Lynn is a Senior Regulatory Associate, Global Operations Labeling Department for Eli Lilly and Company. Lynn worked at Methodist Hospital (merged to become Clarion) for 7 years after graduating from the pharmacy school at the University of North Carolina in 1991. She has been with Lilly for 3 years. Dave and she married in September 1996 in Bloomington.

Dave and Lynn Pardo are vacationing in Greece at the end of September and early October. Dave now works for the State of Indiana as a property tax attorney and at times prepares briefs for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Lynn has been promoted in her Department of Labeling at Lilly and enjoys a number of activities in and around Indianapolis. They have been doing restoration on their century old home and touching up old paint. Their gardens are looking lovely.

Don, Jill, and Tara Clapham

Don, Jill, and Tara Clapham love their home in Stapleton, CO. It has plenty of room for people to visit and you can walk to parks, pools, and restaurants and ride bikes, jog, and walk throughout the neighborhood. They have all their paperwork logged in in China on August 9th for a little mei mei so about 7 months from that date they should have a referral. Then about 6 or 8 weeks after that they will travel to China to bring her home. Tara and Nana Nancy hope to go too. Tara is very excited about having a baby sister.

Tara is now 4 years old and said that that was almost grown up! She is in daycare, Chinese school on Saturday mornings, and gymnastics. She loves golf, swimming, bike riding, visiting the zoo, going to the mountains, shopping, reading, computer, and most any other activity she does with family and friends.

Craig Dalrymple

Craig now lives in Denver, Co and works as an attorney’s assistant in a firm that specializes in personal injury. He likes the work and is very busy. In the Spring he had back surgery due to disk problems after an auto accident in December. He is now doing some physical therapy and becoming more active again.
